Its fair to say that bees are having a moment in Manchester. A symbol of all that we love about this fine city – and a long-term tribute to the industry of her people.
Our bees (up on the roof, if you’re wondering) are a funny bunch. We have two hives, and they all seem to love a bit of drama. Swarms, mutiny, babies where they shouldn’t be – even under the care of our trained and loving bee-keepers these little buzzers get into mischief.
Looking after the bees is fun, its surprisingly mindful, and it provides an helpful conversation topic in awkward social situations. What more reasons could you need to come and volunteer with the St Peter’s House bees team? Contact us to find out how.
