Hello, I am Shou-Hui Chung, the chaplain for Mandarin-speaking students at St Peter’s Ecumenical Chaplaincy and Church. I represent the United Reformed Church and I belong to the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.
I was born and grew up in the beautiful and small island Taiwan which is in the Southeast of Asia. When I finished my junior school, my family emigrated to Brazil. Then I graduated in psychology from the Mogi University. After this I felt the calling to serve God and I decided to go back to Taiwan to study theology in the Taiwan Seminary and work with the youth.
I was a director of the Hsin-Chu High Educational Student Centre after studying theology. I like to listen to people and enjoy working with the young people. To be a blessing to others through the Lord’s image, that is the goal of my ministry. Never mind whether you speak Mandarin or not, feel free and you are really welcome to contact me and join me with a cup of tea.
I love to live in Manchester. It’s a really great city and huge multicultural place. I live with my husband Dr Wei-Hsiang Lin who is a researcher in the University of Manchester, and my two sons Yueh-Chen (Pipo) and Yueh-Hsuan (Yuen-yuen).
