Spiritual Accompaniment

Chaplains offer a range of one-on-one services to help you on your spiritual journey. Spiritual direction, spiritual accompaniment, spiritual friendship, or prayer guiding is a centuries' old practice designed to help you relate your spirituality to your everyday life, research, or study. These practices derive from scripture, and are often based around stories from the Bible, but Spiritual Accompaniment is not coercive or tuition-based but rather formed around your journey and the personal ways God is moving in your life. Sessions typically last 30 minutes and could take place over the course of a few weeks or a few months as suits you. These services are available to all members of the university community free of charge in English and Mandarin.

Alternatively chaplains can also offer one-off "spiritual health checks" and are also available on-call every day of the week for urgent pastoral needs (in term-time). We can also help you find a guided retreat in the North West that will suit you.

To find out more about Spiritual Accompaniment, please contact one of the chaplains below to arrange an informal meeting.
