Faith in Daily Life

I was preparing a sermon for a fellowship meeting on the set theme for the semester: ‘how to practice our faith in daily life’.  The idea of leading everyone to make a covenant with God at the turn of the New Year came into my mind although it had been 20 days since January the 1st.

The talk mainly focused on encouraging people to pray for the Holy Spirit to blow away the grey cloud which separates us from God and to pray for a commitment to live for God.

We prayed for ourselves to use our gifts, given by God’s grace, to support each other to go through a faithful journey in 2017.

Without sharing this idea before the service, all the worship songs chosen and led by one of our members, fitted into this topic.

Another coincidence was the covenant prayer of Reverend John Wesley used in the Methodist Church’s covenant service appeared on the front page of our latest fellowship newsletter.

It was so amazing that God’s spirit helps us choose the same topic.  (Shou-Hui Chung)
