Our very own community cinema, exploring idea and stories to shape our thinking. So roll up, get loaded with snacks, put you thinking hat on,…and wait for the show to begin.
The University of Manchester is proud to welcome you to a screening of ‘After the Flood’ at St Peter’s House Chaplaincy. Hosts: Professor Dawn Edge (Academic Lead for ‘Race’, Religion, and Belief), Banji Adewumi (Director, Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI) and Paul Keeble (Movement for Justice and Reconciliation).
‘After the Flood: The Church, Slavery and Reconciliation’, charts the roots and legacies of the 18th century church’s role in the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The film traces the ideas that justified and sustained the enslavement of Black Africans, their lasting impact, and what true reconciliation might involve and look like today.
The University of Manchester have acquired the film rights to ‘After the Flood’ and are pleased to invite you to join us for the screening, keynote speakers and a panel discussion.
